Organising in LA: 5 Tips to Help You Maximize Space in Your Beverly Hills Garage

The Beverly Hills real estate market is known for its luxurious homes, gated communities, world-class shopping and dining experiences, and famous residents. The homes, which are usually large with modern amenities, often feature garages large enough to hold a fitness centre. But it always helps to maximise space. If you are reorganising your home or planning to move to a new one, here are some tips to help you maximise your garage space.

Clean and Declutter

Whether you own a family home or one of the many Beverly Hills vacation homes in the area, your living space can quickly get cluttered, especially if you have kids. Cleaning and decluttering are some of the easiest ways to free up space in your home. Take two days off, get some boxes, and head to your garage. Sort everything you have not used in several months into stuff you want to keep, toss, sell, or donate. When you are done, your garage should feel airier and more open.

Utilise Overhead Space

You may not consider the space above your garage door prime storage space, but it can be. Depending on what you want to store there, you can hire a contractor to install shelves, rods, or railings that you can then use to hang or display some items. Storage baskets and boxes are an excellent option here, allowing you to free up your garage floor. That said, be careful not to store too heavy items at an above-head level to avoid accidents and the risk of these items falling on you.

Install Shelves

Shelves are the ultimate storage solutions because they are not enclosed, which means they can hold more items than cabinets. But rather than install generic shelves in your garage, you can make them part of your décor and use, say, an entire wall to store items aesthetically. This is a great way to get things off your garage floor and extend your home’s décor into your garage. Depending on what you need to store, these shelves can house old photo frames, vases, flower pots, painting supplies, secured wine bottles, and more.

Install a Workbench

You may not be one for DIY projects, but having a workbench in your garage never hurts. You will find many uses for it as you renovate or clean your home. You may even stumble onto a hobby you enjoy once you set up a work area in your garage. Even better, though, a workbench is an excellent way to add functionality to your garage and store tools that are just lying around.

Organise Wires

You will be surprised how much space you can free up in your garage if you arrange and tape your wires. Wires around the floor create a tripping hazard and can consume too much space. Once you turn off the electricity in your home, move, organise, and tape all the wires you can.
